BIO You know it’s no joke when Stevie Wonder asks another singer “you trynna’ take my job son?” This is the exact question Stevie asked 18 year old singer/songwriter Karim “Kay” Diane (Dee-aw-nee) after he performed Stevie Wonders “Superstition” for him. With Stevies help, Karim appeared in Blender Magazine.
Karim is vocally trained by Ankh Ra of Diddy’s Making the Band. Recently, Karim broke the djbooth.net R&B charts peaking at 8, being the only unsigned artist on the charts. He has been featured as the artist of the week at Hit Quarters (www.HitQuarters.com/KayAOTW), as well as featured THREE TIMES and voted Best Male Vocalist AND lyricist for three consecutive weeks at GarageBand.com. With well over 2 million (2,000,000) plays and views on his myspace, he is beginning to become noticed by the majors. Sickamore, ex Director of A&R at Atlantic Records, has taken notice of Karim. Sick’s management company, The Famous Firm, is now working with him.
Karim has already tore the house down in performances at the famous Village Underground in New York City. He has opened for Hurricane Chris, and has been chosen to soon appear on BET 106 and Park WildnOut Wednesday. He has just completed his senior year of high school and is continuing at The University of Chicago.
