TRAGIC UPDATE -Julian King Body Found

May He Rest In Peace

Less than 24 hours after Jennifer Hudson and her family offered a $100,000 reward for the safe return of the singer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, Chicago media reported on Monday morning (October 27) that police found the body of a male child in a vehicle on Chicago’s West Side. At press time, according to the Chicago Tribune, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s officer were investigating the scene where the boy was found and attempting to determine the identity of the deceased.

According to CNN  an FBI deputy director at a news conference on an unrelated matter said that the body is “believed to be” King and that the bureau is working with the Chicago Police Department to confirm the identity. The Tribune reported late Monday morning that members of the Hudson family were expected at the medical examiner’s office in the early afternoon, and a press conference was scheduled following the identification of the body.

King has been missing since Friday, the same day detectives discovered that Hudson’s mother and older brother had been shot to death inside the family’s home on Chicago’s South Side. An Amber Alert was issued on Friday after King was reported missing.

The Tribune reported that a car belonging to Hudson’s slain brother, a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate number X584859, was reported missing from the crime scene, and the SUV containing the body of the boy matched that license plate number. Live TV shots posted by the paper on Monday morning showed a white Chevy Suburban being investigated on the scene where the child’s body was found. A spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department said there was no comment on the reports at press time.

Late Monday morning, Chicago police confirmed the discovery of the vehicle matching the description of the missing Suburban at around 7:06 a.m. A statement also confirmed that a body was found inside the car in the rear seat, though no details were given on the age or gender of the victim. “Identification of the body will be made by the Cook County medical examiner’s office following their examination,” the statement said. “The vehicle is being processed for evidence and the investigation remains ongoing.”

People in the neighborhood where the SUV was found told local station CLTV that they did not recall seeing the Suburban on Friday or Saturday and that they believe it was dumped there early Sunday morning or “recently.”

The only person detained by police in the case, 27-year-old William Balfour, has denied involvement in the disappearance of the boy, law enforcement sources told the Tribune. Balfour, out on parole after serving a seven-year prison sentence for attempted murder and kidnapping, is the estranged husband of the missing boy’s mother, Julia Hudson. Since being taken in for questioning, he has been transferred to a state facility for violating his parole, officials said.

An unidentified police source told the paper that Balfour’s alibi on the day of the killings has been contradicted by his pregnant girlfriend, who has been interviewed by police. Balfour was arrested at the girlfriend’s home on Friday night, and a family friend said Balfour had recently threatened to take King away. A source said that police had tracked Balfour’s whereabouts on the day of the slayings through his cell phone.

Arkansas Anchor Woman Anne Pressly Dies after Brutal Beating

This has nothing to do with music or other stuff i normally post on this blog. but this story caught my eye after watching it on CNN last week. I saw this increddly beautiful  news woman who had been hospitalized after a brutal beating she had endured and was sadden by the story and hoped she would make it though. but she has now passed and i will like to use this blog to use my empathy for I  lost two people really important to me and know the felling so i can relate to this family and as well with The Hudson family and their horrific crisis. This has been one sad weekend, that has brought up a lots of emotions of my two grandmothers passing back to back. I still feel an emptiness in my life with out them here and i know that Her family will feel that for the rest of their lives and hope God will make all of them stronger for them to keep though this rough time

Heres more on the story

Anne Pressly, 26, died at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Margaret Preston said.

In a statement released by the hospital, Pressly‘s parents, Guy and Patti Cannady, asked for privacy as they grieved.

“It was our hope, as was yours, that Anne would overcome the injuries inflicted upon her in the brutal attack at her home,” the statement read. “We were with her in her last moments, and although our hearts are broken, we are at the same time comforted by our faith knowing that Anne is now with our heavenly father.”

Pressly was beaten around the head, face and neck. She had been unable to communicate with her family or police while being kept sedated in the intensive care unit.

The anchor’s death came only a day after a doctor said he was encouraged that her vital signs were stable while she remained in critical condition. Dr. Clifton R. Johnson told reporters Friday that swelling in Pressly’s brain had gone down since being hospitalized and that doctors had slowly been reducing her sedative dosages.

She was discovered Monday morning a half-hour before she was to appear on ABC affiliate KATV’s “Daybreak” program. Her mother went to her home after she didn’t answer her regular wake-up call.

Police have yet to identify a suspect, though detectives have combed the area around Pressly’s home in the Heights neighborhood — a mix of bungalows and mansions near the Little Rock Country Club. News reports have said detectives found evidence that Pressly’s credit card was used Monday at a gas station a few miles from her home.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis, a police spokeswoman, has said investigators suspect Pressly was the victim of a random attack. Davis did not return a call for comment Saturday night.

Pressly was a native of Greenville, S.C., and moved with her family to Little Rock while she was in high school. She was a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.

She had a small role in the new Oliver Stone movie “W.,” which was filmed in Shreveport, La. She appears briefly as a conservative commentator who speaks favorably of President Bush‘s “Mission Accomplished event on an aircraft carrier shortly after the start of the Iraq war.

On Saturday, KATV opened its nightly news cast with a seven-minute segment devoted to Pressly. Anchor Pamela Smith told viewers that Pressly’s family agreed to have their daughter be an organ donor. Smith’s voice hitched as she read condolences sent into the station, her eyes red.

“She owned every room she was in, not because she demanded our attention, but because we willingly gave it to her,” Smith said. “We all felt a little better, a little more alive just being near her.

“Life was easy for Anne Pressly. But it is her death that is so very hard for all of us.”

A reward fund KATV set up to help find the killer or killers has reached $30,000, the station reported on its Web site Saturday night.

No funeral arrangements were immediately announced.

The Hudson Family Pleads For Julian’s Safe Return Whille FBI Steps in

CHICAGO – Jennifer Hudson appealed Sunday for the public’s help in finding her 7-year-old nephew, missing since the shooting deaths of her mother and brother.

City police, who intensified search efforts in the neighborhood where the Oscar-winning actress and singer grew up, also transferred custody of a “person of interest” in the killings to state authorities.

An Amber Alert remained in effect Sunday for young Julian King, who disappeared on Friday, the day the bodies of his grandmother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and 29-year-old uncle Jason Hudson were found in the home they all shared on the city’s South Side. The deaths were ruled homicides.

The Amber Alert listed William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia Hudson, as a suspect in a “double homicide investigation.” Julia Hudson is the missing boy’s mother.

Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond said that authorities considered Balfour a “person of interest” in the case but that he had not been charged.

Authorities said the search for Julian would be citywide, but on Sunday residents and officers focused their efforts “in the immediate vicinity” of the family’s home in the Englewood neighborhood, said police spokesman Dan O’Brien.

Police said they did not have a motive for the killings but called the case “domestic-related.”

“There’s a lot of forensic evidence. We have to work the evidence and try and solve this case,” Bond said Sunday. “Most importantly, we want to find the child.”

Bond said no weapon had been found at the Hudson home, a three-story house sandwiched between vacant lots littered with trash. On Sunday, investigators moved in and out of the home and examined the trash.

Police officers were instructed to place fliers with Julian King’s picture and description in every business in the area.

Jennifer Hudson, a former “American Idol” contestant who won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in “Dreamgirls,” was in Chicago with her family during the weekend, her sister said. A publicist did not disclose her whereabouts.

In a MySpace blog entry on Sunday, Hudson said she was grateful for community support and posted a picture of her sister’s son.

“Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely,” the blog entry said. “If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately … Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time.”

Bond said Balfour, who had been in police custody since Friday, was transferred Sunday to the Illinois Department of Corrections “based on his active parole violation unrelated to this investigation.”

Records from the Corrections Department show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.

Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said Balfour would probably remain in state custody until the Illinois Prisoner Review Board looked at his case. She would not say exactly where Balfour was being held.

It was unclear whether Balfour had an attorney Sunday, but his mother, Michele Balfour, has denied that he was involved the killings or in Julian’s disappearance.

During a public plea Saturday for the boy’s return, Julia Hudson described her son as a smart, sensitive and easygoing child.

“He’s not your typical 7-year-old,” she told a crowd at the family’s Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago’s South Side. She was joined by the boy’s father, Greg King.

Julia Hudson said she last saw her son Thursday night when they went out to dinner to celebrate her 31st birthday. Afterward, she said, she took Julian to the home she shared with her mother and brother and handed him to his grandmother, and everyone went to sleep.

She said Saturday that she was confident her son was still alive and that she was praying for his return.

“Momma’s looking for you. I’m not going to stop until you come home,” she said.

Suspect Caught in Slaying But Jennifer’s Nephew is Still Missing

Earlier Friday (October 24), Chicago police told they had responded to a call shortly before 3 p.m. at a South Side residence belonging to Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, where they found both Donerson and Hudson’s older brother, Jason, who had been shot and killed. Donerson was 57 years old; Jason was 29.

Chicago Police Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson told reporters in a press conference that neighbors reported hearing shots between 8 and 9 a.m. Friday. Patterson said a family member found the body of Donerson in the living room Friday afternoon and left the house to call police. When authorities arrived, they found Jason Hudson in a bedroom. Patterson said there was no sign of forced entry, and police were unsure if anything was missing from the house.

Chicago police told that William Balfour was a suspect in the double-homicide, which may have arisen from a domestic situtation; the Sun Times reported that Balfour is the suspect who was taken into custody. Balfour, 27, was out on parole from the Illinois River Correctional Center on attempted murder, carjacking and stolen-property charges, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections. He was sentenced to serve seven years in 1999. He’s 5-foot-5 and weighs 147 pounds. Police called him “armed and dangerous.”

A Corrections rep said that Balfour was paroled in 2006; he was set to be discharged from that parole in May 2009.

Balfour was romantically involved with the singer/actress’ sister Julia, who identified Balfour as her husband on her MySpace page. Balfour had been living at the residence and shared vehicle registration with Julia.

Julia’s 7-year-old son, Julian King, was declared missing in the aftermath of the shooting. According to the Amber Alert issued for King, he is wearing a brown, striped polo shirt and khaki pants. He is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair. Despite reports that a suspect is in custody, Chicago police stressed  that King is still considered missing.

Tragic News Jennifer Hudson’s Mom and Brother Killed

Jennifer Hudson‘s  mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donnerson, was found dead Friday afternoon in a house on the South Side of Chicago that is listed in Donerson’s name.

Officer John Mirabelli of the Chicago Police Department tells E! that officers were called to a house in the 7000 block of Yale Avenue in the neighborhood of Englewood, where just before 3 p.m. they discovered two unresponsive adults—one male, one female—who had apparently been shot to death.

The shooting is at this time believed to be domestic, according to police. Various reports are claiming that the other victim was Hudson’s older brother, Jason Hudson.

A 7-year-old boy named Julian King has also been reported missing, but authorities aren’t confirming whether he’s a relative of Jennifer Hudson.

Per the Chicago Tribune police are looking for a white 1994 Chevrolet Suburban registered to Jason Hudson with Illinois license plate No. X584859. They say the boy could be inside and an Amber Alert has been issued.

A police spokeswoman told the Tribune that the female victim was shot in the head, while a 29-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

Mirabelli could not confirm the victims’ identities, but a source close to Jennifer Hudson confirmed to E! that an initial local TV report identifying Donnerson as a victim, based on information provided by a representative of the family’s church, Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist, was true.

A large crowd had gathered outside the home, where police tape was blocking all comers from getting too close. According to the Cook County Assessor’s Office, Donnerson purchased the 1,910-square-foot home in 1996.

Jennifer Hudson was in Florida when she heard the news and is currently en route to Chicago. In happier times, she had been planning to go to Japan Monday to promote her new album, but that trip has been canceled.

Ava Duvernay, a close friend and adviser of Hudson’s who also knew Donnerson,  “It’s a sensitive situation and difficult time.” She refused to comment further.

“My faith in God and my family, they’re very realistic and very normal, they’re not into the whole limelight kind of thing, so when I go home to Chicago that’s just another place that’s home,” Hudson, who got engaged last month to boyfriend David Otunga, said in a recent interview with the Associated Press.

“I stand in line with everybody else, or, when I go home to my mom I’m just Jennifer, [so she says], ‘You get up and you take care of your own stuff.’ And I love that; I don’t like when people tell you everything you want to hear — I want to hear the truth, you know what I mean?”

My Prayers go to Jennifer right now and her family i know personally what it’s like to loose two people like that at the smae time she needs all the surport she can get to deal with this
