Dennis Hopper Dies At Age 74

Such a such week in the entertainment industry. Denis Hopper died at his home in Venice CA.  Hopper had recently been suffering from prostate cancer and going through a difficult divorce from his wife Victoria.

Hopper is best known for starring in the 1969 classic “Easy Rider.”

Legendary Singer and Actress Lena Horne Dies at 92

Actress and singer Lena Horne has died.  Known for such work as the Broadway show Jamacia, the movie Bronze Venus and such songs like” Someone watch over me” and “Summertime” she payed the for African American actress in Hollywood. Such as Halle Berry, Cisley Tyson and Angela Bassett

Lena was also very vocal about the issues facing African Americans long before the Civil Rights Movement. Lena also delft with a great deal of discrimination they would put her in make up called Egyptian dark to make her look more black.

Lena became a heroine to blacks as in those days they were greatly need.

Horne is survived by her daughter, Gail Lumet Buckley.

It’s about Genocide. This is making a statement this is close to me, since the man I love the most is a red head. I’m not going to show him this video but he might see it on his own. It struck me and moved me in a way, where I now see what people really go through in a genocide. Such as The Holocaust, Rwanda and Sudan. After the Holocaust people said “Never Again” but Rwanda and Daufar  happened and on one seems to bat an eye. Get to know history kids. We may love this pop stuff but there stuff going on more important. Something like this could happen, shall another evil Hitler like monster gets power and no one stands up against him. So I say this video has made a impact already on me, with in moments of seeing.

Formerly known as Verbz and Verbalicious In May 2008 she was discovered by will.i.am and went on to sign to Interscope/Cherrytree records via his imprint in late 2008. The Video for Zombie is really intense and groundbreaking . Love kills is a short flim that goes with her album which should be out soon. I really hope she beomes th nest big thing cause I’m tried of all the same folks.

Clash of The Titans (Official Trailer)

Clash of The titans is the 2010 remake of the 1981 Classic of the same name. Its loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. Directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Sam Worthington, the film is set for release on March 26, 2010.

This looks really good. I have not seen the original but i do know of this story from english class. Can’t wait to see it.

Avatar Makes Over One Billion World Wide

Avatar” sped past the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office after three weekends in release, making it the fourth-biggest movie of all time, according to data released on Sunday.

James Cameron’s 3-D sci-fi epic earned $1.02 billion, powered by sales of $202 million during the New Year holiday weekend, distributor 20th Century Fox said.

The only movies ahead of it are Cameron’s “Titanic” ($1.8 billion), “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” ($1.12 billion), and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” ($1.07 billion).

“Sherlock Holmes” was No. 2 with $38.4 million, taking the 10-day total for the Robert Downey Jr. action-adventure to $140.7 million. It was released by Warner Bros. Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc.

Yes Go James Cameron. I have to see this movie. One Billion dollars worldwide don’t lie.

The film looks like a typical weird Tim Burton adaptation, which is indeed a very good thing Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd were excellent. I did not care to much for The Willie Wonka one though. can’t wait to see it. It comes out in theaters March 5th.

Jennifer Hudson To Play Winnie Mandela The Wife Of Nelson Mandela In New Film

 

Acadamy Awar winner and singer jennifer Hudson is set to play Winnie Mandela in a staring role, Variety magazine reports.  

Ms Madikizela-Mandela played a vital role in freeing her husband after 27 years in jail but has since been linked to a murder of a 14 year old girl  and convicted of fraud.

Nelson Mandela and Ms Madikizela-Mandela were divorced in 1996 just four years after his release from Robben Island.

Her role in the release of her ex-husband is celebrated by many South Africans and she is still known as the “mother of the nation” but she is no stranger to controversy.

She was implicated in the kidnap and murder of young activist Stompie Seipei, who was believed to be an informer for the apartheid government – although she has always denied the charges.

She was convicted of theft and fraud in 2003.

South African film-maker Darrell Roodt will direct the film
